The article examines the identification of the current level of environmental security as an important component of the sustainable development of national economies. Environmental security is considered a key element in ensuring the balanced interaction between economic growth, environmental protection and social well-being. The purpose of the study is to provide a scientific justification for assessing the current level of environmental security within the boundaries of safe existence and to identify critical threats affecting the sustainability of development. The methodological foundation of the research is the concept of sustainable development in a security dimension, based on applied systems theory, control theory, economic cybernetics, statistical data analysis methods and elements of artificial intelligence, which enables the formation of a digital indicator-based model for assessing environmental security. The methodology involves determining the structure and system of environmental security indicators, defining the boundaries of safe existence and conducting an integral assessment using a modern methodology of integral analysis with dynamic weighting coefficients. The study calculates the dynamics of individual components and the integral environmental security index, which makes it possible to determine the degree of deviation from the sustainable development trajectory and to establish the priority of critical threats based on the assessment of their elasticity. The obtained results create an analytical basis for developing macroeconomic policy instruments aimed at improving the level of environmental security, including increasing public expenditure on environmental protection, improving tax incentives for environmentally oriented economic activity, developing waste management systems and preserving biodiversity. The use of integral indicators and analytical data-processing methods makes it possible to apply the proposed approach in monitoring systems for sustainable development and environmental security.
