Abstract

Effective communication coordination within an enterprise is essential for aligning management practices and ensuring seamless interaction among various organisational levels. Despite significant advancements in management theory, gaps remain in understanding how to synchronise the interests of management agents across horizontal and vertical structures. This paper addresses this issue by developing a mechanism for hierarchical-reflexive coordination of communications, aimed at improving the interactions and decision-making processes within enterprises. The proposed mechanism involves coordinating management agents' actions by integrating horizontal and vertical communication strategies. Informational reflection supports horizontal coordination by facilitating the exchange of relevant information, while strategic reflection is used for vertical coordination, aligning management objectives across different hierarchy levels. The study highlights that the interplay between these two types of reflection, as well as discrepancies in agents’ interests within hierarchical levels, can lead to conflicts and contradictions in inter-level (vertical) interactions. Methodologically, the study employs a theoretical and analytical approach to model the mechanism of hierarchical-reflexive coordination and assesses its role in enterprise communication management. The framework demonstrates that reflection acts as the core management function, enabling the selection and filtering of management information. This process supports the coordination of decisions, ensuring that enterprises maintain their strategic direction amidst complex interactions. The results indicate that applying hierarchical-reflexive coordination facilitates better alignment of management actions and reduces conflicts within an organisation. Reflection serves not only as an administrative function but also enhances the coordination of decisions, contributing to a cohesive management strategy. The discussion underscores the dual role of reflection and coordination in achieving efficient management practices. The findings suggest that by adopting this mechanism, enterprises can better manage internal communications and navigate challenges related to aligning multi-level management interests. Future research should examine practical applications of this mechanism in different industrial sectors and explore how digital tools can further support hierarchical-reflexive coordination for enhanced organisational performance.
